Schools or Colleges are the places where students have the burden on their shoulders to stand upright and meet success. Planning to build a school or college as per Vastu has a vital role to set the success of the students and a healthy atmosphere. The following are the Vastu tips for educational institutions, which have to be considered while preparing a structure.

  • PLOT/LAND: – For an educational institute whether land is squire or rectangle, its necessary to have angles in ninety degrees. The rectangular or squire shape of plots is considered as auspicious. Avoid having another shape of the land like triangular or land having more than four sides.
  • ENTRANCE: – It is good to have open space or roads in the east or west of the land and the entrance should be according to the effective part of the land or plot. If the plot is north facing the main door should be in north or northeast direction. If a plot is east-facing then the main door should be in the northeast. If plot is south-facing, the main door should be south-southeast direction. If plot is west-facing, the main door should be west-northwest direction. If the building of the institution is very big and needed more than one entrance, then it should be planned by following other Vastu rules.
  • BUILDING: – Construction of the building should be towards the south, west or southwest part of the plot. There should be a proper open place or play area for students towards the east or north part of the plot.

  • CLASS ROOMS: – There should be provision to construct of various Class Rooms in the institution and it should be constructed towards east or north part of the school building. The door of Class Rooms should be in East, North, and Northeast, and make the sitting arrangement of students in such a way that no student sits under the beam. While studying, students must face toward the East, Northeast, or North direction. All classrooms should be rectangular or squire in shape.
  • LABORATORY/ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT: – Make the laboratory in the Southeast direction of the building and at the time of practicals students should face towards the east or north direction. The placement of various electric equipment is like main switches, electric meters, generators and various power supplies should be towards the southeast.
  • STAFF/PRINCIPALS ROOM: – Northwest is the best direction for the staff room. The principal’s office or Management department must be constructed in the Southwest or South direction of the Building.
  • TOILETS/CANTEEN: – Northwest is the best direction for toilets of the building. Built kitchen, Pantry, or canteen in the Southeast or Northwest corner of the building.
  • RECEPTION: – Placement of reception is best in East, North or northeast direction of the building. It should be construct near the entrance and on the ground floor of the building.
  • LIBRARY: – West direction of the building is auspicious for construction of Library in the institution. Student must face towards east, north or north direction while studying in the library. War drops for placing of books should be in south, west or southwest of the library.
