While preparing architectural structure or plan of a house, it is important to place drawing room on its right direction. It is an important component of a house and it dictates the density of house and the owners. The drawing room is that room where Guests are entertained. In whole house only drawing room is the best place where guests are attended, this is the place which should be decorated carefully by placing each and everything on its right direction like sofa, TV, tea table, air conditioner, wall pictures and many more etc. vastu shastra offers some guidelines to construct and decorate the drawing room. Some tips are mentioned below to look it as good and attractive as per the following norms of vastu.

Vastu Tips For
Drawing/Living Room:-

  • The right location for placing the drawing-room is the front room of the house, it should be near to the entrance door. The east, north, and northwest directions are perfect for constructing the drawing-room. Try to place it always in the center of a house as per the right direction.
  • The drawing room should be in a square or rectangle shape.
  • Using colors like white, yellow, green, blue, and pastel shades are good for drawing-room, by these colors it looks bigger and attractive.
  • All drawing-room incomplete without placing the sofa, the right direction of placement of the sofa is south and west direction of the drawing-room. The owner or key people should sit towards the southwest corner of the drawing-room while sitting with the guests. The north and east walls should have to be painted in light colors, avoid using red and black colors.
  • Placement of television towards east or north wall is good while watching television face should be towards the north or east side.
  • The air conditioner should be affixed to the west or south wall.
  • Supply of electricity or placing of electric equipment should be in southeast or northwest direction.
  • The placing of paintings or statues depends upon the type of paintings. If the statue is heavy then it should be placed in the southwest, east, and the north wall is good for paintings fixation. Any negative painting or statue that looks unpleasant or representing war must be avoided to fix in the drawing-room.
  • Never have beam or girder running along with the ceiling of the drawing-room.
  • Windows and doors should be placed towards the east or north direction.
