Vastu Shastra offers appropriate directions for each room. The ideal location to construct a guest room is the north-west direction of the house. This corner of the house is considered an unstable area which is why it is best preferred for the guest room. It is carefully noted that the guest room should not be constructed in the southwest direction of the house. Following are some tips given in the Vastu Shastra for the guest room.

  • The ideal location to construct a guest room is the Northeast direction of the house, it is strictly avoided to construct in the southwest direction.
  • The bad in the guest room should be in the southwest direction of the room and the head of the person while sleeping should be remains towards the south direction.
  • Electric items like television, computer, and refrigerator should be kept in the southeast direction of the room.
  • If there is an attached bathroom in the guest room, it should be in the northwest of the room, and the door should away from the sleeping bed.
  • The ideal position for fixing the cabinets is on the south or west or southwest wall. The Northwest corner is good for entrance in the guest room.
  • Use light colors like blue, ivory, white, or green in the guest room. Light colors are good and positive which keeps the atmosphere positive.
  • Hanging beautiful paintings on the wall, placing a vase in the room is considered charming and makes the room look beautiful. Vastu Shastra says to hand beautiful paintings and pictures of racing cars and bikes, flowers and valleys, flying birds, and scenes are considered auspicious for the room that ensures a happy yet short stay.
  • Hanging of wind chimes is good for the guest room and should be hanged towards west or northwest windows.
